PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy policy

We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our website. In particular, we want you to know that we are not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. In this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

Cookies

We may use cookies on our website in order to personalise our service to you. If you do not want cookies to be used, you can set your internet browser to deny them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer by websites you visit.

They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently for visitors, and to provide information to the owners of the site. Some of the cookies we use are essential in order for parts of the website to operate.

How do we use cookies on the website?

Cookies are used on the website for our own internal purposes, to track how users navigate through the website. This helps us to evaluate and improve the website and our online services.

We use information derived from cookies in order to:

  • compile statistics on how the website is being used, which can help us to improve the website and online services.

  • facilitate users’ ability to navigate through the website.

  • ascertain whether the website is operating effectively.

  • personalise and improve the service we offer you by understanding your preferences and establishing which areas of the website are most relevant to you.

Managing cookies

In your web browser you can control which types of cookies you allow. You can turn cookies on or off using your browser’s settings. You can also delete cookies and clear your browser’s cache (history).

Mailing Lists

As part of the registration process for ongoing communication from us, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about what you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver newsletters and mailings. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry-standard technologies to help me monitor and improve my mailings. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of my emails or by emailing the Data Protection officer (DPO).

Third-Party Services

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.
